Living With Fear and
Faith
By Judi Singleton
Each day the unemployment rate gets a bit higher where I live in Portland,
Oregon. We are among the highest in the nation now for unemployment. However, I
remember there is a higher law in action. There is never any lack in God's
world. I believe this law is constant. If I bless the work I am doing now and
look at where I want to be in one year, five years, ten years I know that even
if I am not making huge progress right now I will continue to move forward as
long as I don't get in my own way with fear. I believe that this time is a
challenge for us to look and see what talents and abilities we have. To take
inventory and see who we have in our lives that can support us using these
talents. Meditate each day and ask your higher power how he/she would use you.
Spend time learning more about the law of abundance.
My prayer went something like one Oprah Winfrey shared in Oprah magazine:
"Use me, God. Show me how to take who I am, who I want to be, and what I can do,
and use it for a purpose greater than myself." I wanted my business to be God's
business"only and exactly what the divine Employer wanted me to do. I found
encouragement in these words from Mary Baker Eddy: "The scientific unity which
exists between God and man must be wrought out in life-practice, and God's will
must be universally done." (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures)
I prayed to be grateful everyday that I am working and try to do a better
job. I know if you are grateful for what you already have more comes to you.
I have been watching my thoughts carefully. Because I believe what I think
manifests. Within your mind lies a vast limitless resource of untapped creative
energy. The only limit to what you can attain and achieve using this source of
infinite power are the limits you have set in your own mind. Your unconscious
mind attracts to it whatever it believes. And your unconscious mind believes
what you tell it to believe with every thought that you have.
I also decided to stop thinking or reading about unemployment. I will not
waste my energy in this way. I need all the energy I have to live this exciting
adventure called life. I believe the perfect employment is now mine. I make the
wage I think I am worth.
